I was listening to a YouTube video of Lara Cousta. She is someone who grew her LinkedIn following from 0 to 50K in a year. I wanted to learn something from her. So I watched her video about growing on LinkedIn. She was explaining the steps for insane growth. One of the things she insisted to do was not just to post. But check your analytics frequently, see what kind of post your audience likes. And double down on the kind of posts that works. I realized I wasn’t doing it. I was simply posting. I hardly checked my analytics and made decisions based on it. So I immediately downloaded my 1 year LinkedIn analytics. And began to dig deep on what kind of posts gave me most impressions, most engagement and followers. The insights what I found blew my mind. Top impressions4 categories of post gave me top impressions. 1. Personal story tagging influencers 2. A deeply moving personal story 3. A funny entertaining 3 liner post. 4. And an educational post tagging influencers. Below is the image for your reference. Top engagementAll the above posts which had top impressions also had top engagements. And one additional category which isn't there above is a celebration post. Top followersI wanted check, in a single day, which posts led me to gain more followers. Not in a week but in a day. I thought my top performing posts would give me more following. It did, but in a span of say a week or couple of days. But in a single day, unexpectedly my deep quote posts gave me more following. Here is an example of my quote posts, So what happened after posting this is, people read this post in an instant. They loved it and followed me immediately. See this below image. Only 2 people liked this post. Just 2. It has zero comments. But it gave me 10 following in a day. I never thought my tweet post would work. Because I post it only on those days when I feel lazy to write. When I had nothing to post. But it worked far better in terms of following. Here are the below categories of posts that led me to top followers My realization:So, 3 things worked for me. 1. Deep quotes 2. Personal stories 3. Personal stories tagging creators. (The creators must like or respond to the post in any way) If you ask me will this work for you as well? I would say no. I am extremely good at one liner, 2 liner deep quotes. You may be good at something else. Use what you are good at, to be unique. Personal stories works well for everyone. Use that as well. Post everyday or frequent enough. See what is working for you. And double down on it. Here is the attached excel file to study my top performing posts. See whether you can use it in your work. Also you can find the links of my top performing posts here.
